My love for Floral Design began in high school when I took a basics class on floral arranging. That summer I began exploring things that grew wild in our yard and clipping our roses, bringing them to our table.
I worked for a short time in a flower shop which taught me many insightful things where I grew in my technique and knowledge.
I realized I had a passion for floral arranging and began to buy books and glean everything I could on being a florist. So began Flowers by Roo. My Mom suggested the name since her endearing term for me as a child was Rissa Roo. The name has always been special to me. Whenever someone calls me Roo in my business it makes me smile and I think of my mother.

Weddings:
When you have selected your bridesmaids dresses and the color theme is confirmed for your wedding it is time to book your consultation.
Please bring the following items with you to the consultation:
1. Pictures of flowers and floral designs that you like. There are so many places to find flowers on the Internet, in wedding magazines or in books.
2. Pictures of the brides dress and bridesmaids dresses and color swatches. If you cannot obtain color swatches from the dress manufacturer you can use paint or ribbon swatches from your local paint and craft stores.
3. A list of names you will need to supply with boutonnieres and corsages. and their significance to the Bride and Groom
4. Any other information you would like to share during your consultation is welcome. The more information you can provide the better!

Flowers make great gifts and add personality to any event! I will create something beautiful and unique that will fit your exact needs.
